IE8-links behind pop'd menu w/ iframe still work [workaround

okay got a weird issue in IE8 only.

If you click LOGIN everything works fine until you notice the image below in the heade area (that is now covered up with the menu) is still interactive. Any ideas on how or why is this happening?

Doesn't occur in any other browser or any other version of IE other than 8.

weird!

Thanks!

Can I have a link to the page, so I can see what I can see. What do you mean by

The menu is over the top of them, so I can't figure how you could do anything with the things below it unless you closed the menu. I guess I am not understanding what you mean. I'm doing more duhs than usual lately!

please click LOGIN button and the Milonic menu opens. Then, in IE8, roll your mouse right under the word "access" and yo uca nsee the button below is still interactive.

This obviously needs addressed. I can't have elements in the header causing problems with the menu.

Thanks!

Hi,

I am going nuts. I cannot find any word 'access' anyplace on that page you linked. So, I click on the login at the top and the menu opens what is under the menu is a kind of wine colored box with 'For Patient Information and a blue arrow, and below that is a picture with Trusted etc.

in the popup menu for LOGIN look for this text: "For immediate access to protected content: " if you put your cursor right under the word access you get the active link pointer for the maroon/purple button. It is still interactive when it should be covered by the Milonic menu.

Hope this helps

Duh.

Anyway, in IE8 does the link actually work or does the mouse just change? I have passed this on to Milonic and am just trying to get them as much info as possible.

no reply from support in over a week.

Do I need to purchase another license to get support for this issue? I am little surprised I'm not getting any response.

I mean we've already purchased over 30 licenses and I think we have been pretty good customers so far...

It was last Thursday that your request was made, not quite over a week. This was unfortunate though as it meant there was nobody available to answer it due to national end of Summer holiday in the UK. It's quite a complex time consuming issue too. It would have been dealt with on Thursday but it needs more resources, sorry you were not informed of this.

It will be dealt with tomorrow.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for replying and explaining what was going on.

I was not aware of the end of summer holiday! My apologies

We will still be buying a license for ths project and will probably be getting at least two more here before the end of the year so you'll see more purchases soon in another bulk purchase.

Looks like a bug in IE8 although I cannot seem to reproduce it.

The fix will be to remove _CFix=true; - However, this will re-introduce the bug with parts of your site becoming inactive.

Can you remember the post where this was resolved?

issue is becuase IE8 handles iFrames set to transparent as literally transparent (all the way through - not the just background).

Removing the transparent parameter fixed the issue but I'm left with a nasty white box. I then take part of my background of the milonic menu, re-slice that graphic and place it as a background of the iFrame.

UGLY solution but it works.

-don't know if you guys can verify that for me, is there a way around this knowing the issues involved now?

Thanks again for all your help Andy and Ruth (you are a trooper!)
