z-index - menu on top of div layer - [Solved]

Hi,

I tried really hard to look for the solution around the forum, and found quite a few discussion threads about z-index and layer orders. But all the examples I tried to no avail. Hence this post. I have 4 icons which have milonic menu drop down when you click on them. But if you click on the "cards icon" or "notes" link in the footer, the link reveals a div layer, and the four icons w/milonic menu are on top. See the following link:

http://www.web-site-demo.net/online/cs_notes_nozindex.html

When I specify z-index for the four icons, it looks fine, the icons don't show up on the top of the div layer, but they are not clickable any more either. See the following:

http://www.web-site-demo.net/online/cs_notes.html

And this is the same in Firefox and IE. What am I missing? I am using Version 5.790 menu. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,

Sorry about that, I actually missed the post.

The property is zindex= not z-index like the css.

It is a menu property, not a style property so put it down where you have the position='relative'; and such. IE doesn't like the -2, that is what seems to be causing the menu to not open. I found two solutions

1. set the zindex=1; and change the z-index=1 in the <DIV id=uniquename to 2
2. eliminate it from the menu and set the <DIV id=uniquename to zindex=1100 [the menu is 1001 or something like that]

Both of those seem to work.

Ruth
