hi all, i had a dabble with the incredible milonic menu system a few years back on my ISP's web spacehttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/tim.parsons/ and have just got around to thinking of using it on my web site proper, so i obviously have an old version of the milonic menu, but i find the old version that i have works quite well !!!!.
You will see (I hope) that the old version i have, is simply a case of EDITING the HTML on the page itself, it doesnt seem to have any connection with the JavaScript files at all.
Anyway, my problem is simply, AM I DOING IT CORRECTLY what i have done ????, it seems to work OK, or should i really get up to date with the latest Java Script version ?.
By the way, i have tried using the newest JS version but cant find a reliable way of putting the Milonic Menu on the page under my heading, whereas using the HTML version i can do it OK !.

thanks for your input Andy, yeah it does work fine, i am really pleased with it and that is with ME not understanding how it works, LOL.
However, do i still need the .JS files using this type of Menu, which i now realise is commonly kown as the HTML LIST version ?.

Hi,
Yes, if you want the menu to show at the top as it is now. If you removed the js files, you would just get a page with the html list menu showing, just like anyone who had js turned off. What is happening is that you have created a list menu, ul/li stuff, and the particular menu you are using, the listbased menu, is reading the style you have created, this part
Code:
_menuCloseDelay=500;
_menuOpenDelay=150;
_subOffsetTop=2;
_subOffsetLeft=-2;
with(menuStyle=new mm_style()){
bordercolor="#999999";
borderstyle="solid";
borderwidth=1;
fontfamily="Comic Sans MS, Tahoma, Arial";
fontsize="100%";
fontstyle="normal";
headerbgcolor="#ffffff";
headercolor="#000000";
offbgcolor="#eeeeee";
_menuOpenDelay=150;
_subOffsetTop=2;
_subOffsetLeft=-2;
with(menuStyle=new mm_style()){
bordercolor="#999999";
borderstyle="solid";
borderwidth=1;
fontfamily="Comic Sans MS, Tahoma, Arial";
fontsize="100%";
fontstyle="normal";
headerbgcolor="#ffffff";
headercolor="#000000";
offbgcolor="#eeeeee";
and using that to create the style, and then it is reading that list you have and making those items the menu items.
Hope that made sense.
