Hello.
i have a website with a Miloic inside, i see that the milonic makes the site a lot heavier.
if you install on your Firefox "Lode Time Analyzer" you will see that the milonic is in 3 seconds heavier.
see
http://_DEV_.finexo.com without the menu
(replace the _DEV_ with dev)
http://finexo.com with the menu.
What can i do?
thanks

Hi,
You could try uisng the js compactor tool for the menu files. I'm surprised at the 3 second thing since the only larger file is the mmenudom.js file of 31kb. Of course it is a program so though it has been kept at a pretty small size, it does have to have all the necessary info to run the program.

Looking at both pages on my high speed connection, I really don't see a difference between the two links you posted. To my eye, they both come up very quickly. Frankly, I don't think the majority of users are going to notice any difference, either.

Also note that you have removed all copyright information from at least one of our files. That is not allowed, as stated...

Also, you are 3 versions downlevel in the software you're running. v5.773 is current. The latest version is required for support in the Forum.

I'm very pleased to hear you are a paying customer (far too many folks freeload off Milonic). Thank you for your support.
However, the copyright statements still must be retained in all files.
Here's a list of the fixes in the versions you're missing...
Quote:
# Fixed problem with header type items changing mouse pointer to a hand when it should have been the browser default
# Added mm_reloadMenu function to the menu API. This function rebuilds menus on the fly at any time to display changes instantly
# Remove the reference $_ from Milonic code to remove conflicts with other scripts
# Fixed problem with Firefox opening links in parent browser window when declaring target and targetfeatures
# Fixed bug with Firefox not setting correct dimensions for sub menus when declaring overflow="scroll"
# Modified the menus nowrap style property to contain the parameters "on" and "off" to ensure more accurate wrapping declaration
# Fixed problem with menu that had scrollbars not setting correct height and width when the scrollbars were no longer required.
# Removed the return value from mouseclick actions. This value returned nothing so should not have any effect on menus using onclick actions.
# Added new menu item type: div. This enables menu items to not inherit normal properties fixing several mouse clicking issues
# Fixed problem with openmenusbyurl.js not allowing clickAction to fire, on main menu, if a match was found
# Fixed problem with IE6 returning security errors on HTTPS web pages
# Fixed problem with pageimage not working if no menu item image had already been specified.
# Added new style and menuitem property to disable auto breadcrumbs (page properties) Property name, breadcrumbs is set to true by default but can now be disabled by adding nobreadcrumb=true; to either a menus style or a single menu item
# Fixed bug that wouldn't allow target and targetfeatures to work if a clickaction had been specified
# Fixed CSS id name conflict with the img# property id. Certain products use img1, img2, img3 and so on as their image id's and this conflicted with the menus images
# Fixed bug with right click no longer working on menu items
# Added mm_reloadMenu function to the menu API. This function rebuilds menus on the fly at any time to display changes instantly
# Remove the reference $_ from Milonic code to remove conflicts with other scripts
# Fixed problem with Firefox opening links in parent browser window when declaring target and targetfeatures
# Fixed bug with Firefox not setting correct dimensions for sub menus when declaring overflow="scroll"

Will something there fix your problem? I really don't know. As mentioned, I honestly am not seeing a difference in the speed of the 2 pages you posted. I'm simply going by what it says on the download page...
All Versions below this line are now obsolete and are no longer supported.

Installing the licensed version of the menu will also help increase the performance.
Looks like you are still using the evaluation copy.
Cheers,
Andy

Hi,
I'm loading the page in IE and FF at 8 seconds. I can't test without the menu since you don't have the page without it.
I tested it at NetMechanic.com and it is not giving a warning on any file size. However, it is giving a warning that the saxo.gif does not have height or width listed, this will add to load time. There is also a free tool there to 'compress/compact' your 3 larger images. So, you can try using that and making the images a smaller file size.
http://www.netmechanic.com/products/GIF ... mple.shtml
you can also evaluate the HTML ToolBox which will give you detailed reports for the various things listed, one of which is load time.

Hi again
here is a link to the site without the menu:
http://www._DEV_.finexo.com/?lang_id=en
(replace the _DEV_ with dev)
(I added with and height to the saxo .gif, thanks).

Hi,
My first load from the previous post was 8.44 sec, without the menu using this link it is 8.18 seconds.
So, it doesn't seem to me that the menu is taking that much time. I suggest you use that link I gave and test the page even without the menu, and then on the Page Summary report click on the link to detailed report for the Page Load. Then on that next page, look for your images and if you click the image file size listed it will give you a page that has a number of 'compressed' images for that image. See if any will serve, to me the first 3 or 4 of each image looks fine and they are downsized a lot.
