Hi,
I'm sorry I don't really know what the dcr files are. Is this shockwave program something like a player? I only ask because I remember reading that things such as windows media player and such are really separate programs and even though you can get the player coded in the page, even with a div hider you can't hide it because it's a separate 'program' or rather what is playing is not playing on the page but in the player so the dhtml object won't drop over it. Sorry, I don't have the technical knowledge to explain it clearly.

Ruth, it's a player basically similar to the Flash player, but just a different file type. I'm not sure why the Flash solution isn't working. This might be an Andy problem.

John,
I was wondering since the flash player can be overlaid if this wasn't more in the line of something like windows media player, quick time etc, which won't allow overlay. Kevin explained once about those kinds of players but I can't find the post. Something about some things existing outside the layering setup generated by the browser because they are created by the OS.
One thing I did find in my searches: with regard the wmode, transparent, opaque etc. According to the tech note when showing where this option is supported, it lists - Product(s): Studio , Flash , Dreamweaver - so it seems that the Shockwave is not one of those products which can use this method. I tried searching the Shockwave help section but there doesn't seem to be a tech notes area, at least I couldn't find one. This might be something that has to be addressed to Adobe as to whether that wmode can be utilized with Shockwave dcr files.
This might be one of those instances where the divhider.js would be required, but again, there are some things it won't do. For example, it will hide the windows media player when a menu drops over it until you actually stream something. Once the streaming content is running the content remains on top though the player is hidden, so the menu drops over the player but behind the content.....
