Seperator bars - IE and CSS

I have been using Milonic Menus on this website for this last few years: http://jg-regensburg.de/

Version 3.5.15 – but; if it works – leave it alone!

Problem 1
I am in the process of upgrading the site to CSS and tried adjusting the menu accordingly.
With Firefox it seems to be working fine:

With IE, for some reason, the separator bar is half-way only:

Problem 2
I then tried using the converter to upgrade to Version 5. For some unknown reason, the only thing I get in the menu_data.js file is:

_menuCloseDelay=500;
_menuOpenDelay=150;
_scrollAmount=3;
_scrollDelay=20;
_followSpeed=5;
_followRate=40;
_subOffsetTop=0;
_subOffsetLeft=0;

drawMenus();

What is the reason for that?

If I can't fix problem 1; and the converter does not work for my file, then I will have to redo the menu from scratch. So, before I start on that - Are there any known problems with Version 5, CSS and IE browsers?

No, not really, if you follow suggestions made there:
http://www.milonic.com/cssbasedmenus.php
particularly on the setting up of classes (mouseon,mouseoff)

PS: Don´t know the reasons, why the converter refuses to transfer your version3 to version 5. I tried what you did, same result...........

Thank you,
I noticed that you are from Germany, and the specfic site I cant convert is in German too. Could it possibly be that the converter does not like the UMLAUTS in the text?

As far as the "main issue" is concerned:
I tried playing around with the version 3.. menu and the CSS.
Interesting; When I change the seperator line value to 0 or to 2,3 etc it works perfectly in IE too. For some reason it does not like the value 1.

Hi

...worked with version 3 only a couple of weeks, then introduced version 5 at that time, which is excellent, compared with v.3.

Related to the issue of "Umlaute" in the menu, those are "ä,Ä", "ü,Ü", "ö,Ö" (that is an explanation for our English-only-speaking friends) - I would like to suggest, just try to make a test by replacing them, using an editor with replace functions, just to find out.

(I wasn´t aware, that this could cause any problem, when version3 is converted to version5. Once I converted my menu and I think there were "Umlaute" too, there was no problem at all, must be something different)

I tried it. Replaced all the Umlaute. You are right. This is NOT the reason why the converter does not work in my file.
