List menu question

Hello,
First, thank you for the help with sub menu styling.

I am using the list based menu on http://www.scs.uiuc.edu/chem/ and it is wonderful except that the list appears for awhile before it is loaded. As there are many links in the menus and sub menus, this can take awhile. Is there something that I can do to eliminate this without removing the accessibility functionality.
