How to change a menu's background hover color simply?

Great job on keeping the menu so active and feature packed. It's great to be able to point my clients to your site and let them choose between the tons of menu samples you offer. Keep up the good work.
My question is this: I understand that I need to create a new menuStyle for each menu if I wish each menu to have a different hover background color. But is there a simple way to create a style that will inherit from another style, but just override the hover background color?
As it is now, I need to create a style for each menu I popup since I wish each different menu to have a different hover background, but the hover background is the only property that's different between the menus.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
