Milonic and prototype.js

I'm enthusiastic about my trial with milonic and I'm definetely going to buy licence BUT...I've got troubles with milonic menu and prototype.js windows in same page.

I found a topic here but it didn't help me, my only problem is that milonic menu stays before the window fading in and covers it.

I guess it's a problem of z-index or something like that but I need help, I don't want to renounce to this marvellous menu solution because of this little problem!!

Tnx in advance
Emiliano

A URL (as requested) would be a big help. While the kind words are most appreciated, you haven't told us anything about what is actually happening.

Tnx for your attention John, here is the link...some little errors but it's under development actually:

http://www.geosimmobiliare.it/ci/sito/c ... ntieri.php

click on the second button "Scheda cantiere" to open the window, and you will see it's covered by the milonic menu.

Waiting for precious advice...!

E.

I realize you're still testing, but you have the required Milonic link for the free script version blocked out in your CSS by using white text. Not a good thing to do...

Hi,

I have no clue on what this is doing, but when you click that link and get that page, if you look at the source of that page, the call for the menu is on it. If the call is there, wouldn't the menu show???

Hi to u all, 9 am in italy, still on my trouble...

John, I knew u were going to warn for that, but it's just a test page published for you in a secret link to see problem, i'm testing locally and I have to show layout to my Boss, who wouldn't understand a link to milonic in the page...nobody else has to see the page, it could be white or purple, but it's only for my eyes at the moment! :)

I WILL NEVER publish the site this way (and never do such things!), I'm gonna buy the licence for sure: milonic menu is a very good work and deserves even more than the few dollars it costs.

But please, I need support on my problem before that: can you suggest how to manage it?

Ruth: sorry but I can't see any call to the menu on the window fading in, the call is only in the main window...but the menu appears over the one linked...any suggestion is precious anyway. Tnx to u all for your help.

E.

E, thank you very much for that confirmation. We get a little sensitive around here. No offense was meant.

I just looked at your page in IE7 and finally can see what's happening. Not understanding the script that controls the new window I have to ask - is the placement of that window under your control, and, if so, is there not a way to move it down the page a bit - say 30px or so?

In FF, now looking more closely, the overlap is only 1 or 2px. Also in FF, the background of the new window is transparent, so the main page shows through.

Hi John, tnx a lot for your cross browser testing, very precious cause at the moment i'm still with IE 6.

i've just set table bgcolor to white in new window...can you appreciate any improvement on IE7 or FF? (transparent bg trouble with FF is quite worrying to me!)

The window position is under my control but I'd better not move it down (about 30 px in IE)...the page is just long enough for some screens...so this is the last way out to me!

Any hint about z-index or something similar that can provoke this result?

Tnx again for your kind support.

Emiliano

Sorry guys, I can't believe nobody had the same problem as me, prototype.js is getting quite popular actually.

I'm just asking for some hints about alpha effect, and transparency of milonic menu against other windows with fading effects or DHTML. (I think it's just a matter of z-index, but can't find any reference on that in milonic code)

Pliz it's quite important cause I don't want to renounce to milonic or prototype!

Tnx a lot, any suggestion very very appreciated!
