Off-kilter nav images

I've got things pretty well dialed in on this site:

But if you look at the nav images on the homepage, they're mysteriously "elevated." This is not happening on any of the site's inner pages. Using exactly the same menu config. Is there anything in MM that could cause this, or is definitely a CSS issue? If so, any clues what to look for in the stylesheets?

Well, powers that be have asked for the arrows to be removed altogether, so this question is moot. Thanks anyway
