Subimage throws menu text out of alignment

Viewed in IE6, using the simple arrow.gif subimage on the version 5.18 menu at http://www.ccm-ltd.co.uk , throws the text out of alignment with the 'Home' menu item where no subimage is displayed.
Also, I note that the subimage does not line up precisely with the text in those menu items where the subimage is displayed.
Also, I still can't get rid of the ghastly false shadow referred to in an earlier post.
Can anybody help me with the above?

Hello,
We cannot help you as we do not have any access to v5.18, that's from back in 2004 sometime. The newest version is 5.756, a lot of levels above where you are and there have been numerous additions, changes and fixes since your version, and that issue was most likely fixed way back when.
I don't know where you are seeing shadows, I don't see any except from the bg image that is behind the menu which has a bottom shadow, if you're seeing something else in IE 6 you might check your IE6 settings, I think with IE6 you can set the MS filters as part of the browser itself.
We can only provide help if you upgrade the menu. Since that is a commercial site you'd need to purchase a new license.

Hi Ruth,
I downloaded Opera 9.01, and our v5.18 menu looks fine in that - looks as if its IE6 that has the problem (couldn't see how I set the MS filters in that). But I guess it makes sense to upgrade to v5.756 anyway as this may sort our problems previously encountered with older browsers. However, I note from our milonic_src file that we already have a license (No 193634) and I would therefore hope that means we could upgrade for free, as one doesn't normally expect to have to buy a new product license every time a software company upgrades that product (your message implies you do that fairly frequently).
I would appreciate your confirmation that we can upgrade for free and a few lines on how we do that - I would guess that we have to replace some of the 4 Milonic .js files and possibly update the code in each .html file

Ruth,
I must apologise! Upon further investigation, it appears that the license number I quoted you was for another company entirely! I can only conclude that the guy who developed our website used their license rather than obtain one specifically for us.
I am correcting the matter immediately and buying a new license, then I will be able to download the latest version, and I am then 100% certain everything will be OK!
Again, many apologies,
Graham

Hi,
If you have any problems just post back, I'll be glad to help. Make sure when you upload the files you replace the 3 basic program files, milonic_src.js, mmenudom.js mmenuns4.js BUT don't upload the menu data file since that is your menu file that you edit to have in it whatever you want in it. Also, you might want to make sure you keep a backup of the old files just until you are sure that the new version doesn't have any problems.
You should go to this link, http://www.milonic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3108
and when you get there look for the Watch This Topic and click it. That will send you an email every time a new version is put out, when you get the email, click the link to go to the topic, or it won't send you new emails until you do, it assumes you're not watching anymore if you don't go.

Ruth,
As I expected, everything is now fine, all my problems are fixed, and everyone in the Company now thinks I'm a bit of a whizz when, of course, it's you and the team that really deserve the credit.
I'm now watching topic for further releases and think that Milonic are the best thing since sliced bread.
Many thanks!

Hi,
You're very welcome.
A couple of notes:
When you upgrade, make sure you keep the old files until you upload the new and see that there are no problems, that way you can just upload the old ones until whatever problem is fixed.
Also, remember that upgrades are for a year from the license purchase, after that if you still want upgrades and email support you need to renew the support contract, the menu is still licensed and yours to use on the url forever, but it would be whatever the last upgrade you got before the support contract ran out.
Hope that made sense.
