Collapse - Tree menu... Persistant w/ cookies, save state

I was just wondering if there is any plans on implementing the ability to save the state of the menu on page submits.
I really like the collapse menu compared with other 'tree' menus that I have looked at. However, most other's have the ability to save the state of the menu over submits and navigation to other pages via cookies (make persistant). One example would be treeview (http://www.treeview.net).
Curiously,

Hi,
Not sure if you are referring to the openmenusbyurl module or not [probably not] but I figured I'd post it so you can check that. I'll post this to milonic to see if I can get any info on cookies.

You'd get the module at http://www.milonic.com/menumodules.php

Nope, not reffering to the openmenusbyurl. Tried that and it doesn't work the way I would like.
Basically, I would like to be able to expand branches, hit refresh, and still have those braches expanded instead of collapsing like they do now. This then would keep the menu state across all pages of the site, as long as the pages have the same menu definition. The product at http://www.treeview.net accomplished this by setting cookies for all open branches, then on page load / reload, reading the cookies, and re-opening the branches.
