Menu text disappears on its associated landing pages

I've search the forums and cannot find a posting on this subject.
In IE, Firefox & Netscape the menu text randomly disappears once you click past the first page load. The menus are definitely there as you can see them on mouse over.

Then click on 'Signature Collection' in main nav. Click other items in the main nav. -- Text menu items seem to randomly disappear.

Hi,
Your offbgcolor is #542D6C and your pagebgcolor and pagecolor is #542D6C. So, when you are on a page that is part of the highlighting to show where you are on the site, it disappears. You need to change that so it's not the same or if you don't want to have that path highlighting, then just eliminate the pagebgcolor and pagecolor from your style code.

Also, because many people don't know about code, when you post code, use the code button just above the area to open and close the code you are posting.

You're welcome. Just as an artistic thing, since you have a black background with white text, if you wanted to let people know where they are you could use just the pagecolor. That only affects the font color, doesn't do anything to the on or off background color. You could set it as pagecolor="#e8dff4"; and when you were on a page in the path it would make that item's text a light lilac, like the colors in the site.

Ruth - I tried your great suggestion as I am a creative at heart as well --- besides its just good navigation practice!
But the effect went south on me.

Hi,
It's not the code, it is matching as it should given what you have.

For example, let's say you go to the collection.php page, you'll match both Signature Collection and About Krystyna because in the submenu for About Krystyna you also have a link to the collection.php page. That is happening in all the ones that have duplicates. I'm not sure, but you might be able to fix it by making one of the links a full link with a pagematch in it. For example, in the About Krystyna submenu, try setting it like this: I don't know if that will work. You might try it on one and see, if it does you'd have to do that on all the duplicates. The only other thing I can think of to do is to code the duplicates that you don't want matching with the actual offbgcolor and offcolor, so let's say you want the collection.php to only match the Signature Collection menu item. Then under the About menu try putting in this That should keep the collection.php page from causing the About Krystyna to highlight, or rather what it does is make it stay white. I'm not sure that will work. I mean I know it works but I'm not sure it will only make the highlight be white when you get to the page through the About Krystyna menu.

I'm looking to see if there's a nomatch option. If I find anything else, I'll post again. Like the color you have for the match.
