Milonic not compatible with Fireclick?

We've deployed Milonic Menus on one of our client's websites. They have asked us to deploy some additional javascript for a webstats application called fireclick. The menus are compatible when using Firefox, but when using IE, the menus no longer work. The problem seems to be with a particular line in the fileclick code which creates a script src tag pulling in additional javascript from the fireclick site.

Also, I don't get any javascript errors, so my debugging option is to search each code base for conflicting statements (not a desirable option).

Has anyone else encountered similar code conflicts and been able to resolve them?

The site is located here

A sample broken menu page is located here.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can't get to the test_fireclick link. It says the page is unavailable.

I still couldn't get to the sample broken menu page, but I downloaded the main page to look at it. You are way downlevel on the menu. You need to upgrade to the newest version. Make sure you copy your existing 3 base files and save them in case there's a problem with the newest version.

Also, you have the menu in a table, and that's fine, but you've just put all the files there, and that can cause problems in some browsers. You need to only put the main menu into the table, in between script tags and including a drawmenus(); of its own. Then take the other files and place them at the top of the page, right after the body tag. Also, you've got the styles in between the milonic_src.js file and the mmenudom.js file. I think the one thing that is always stated is that the 3 [in your case the 2 since you aren't using the mmenuns4.js file] anyway, those files need to be called in the way the directions say 1. milonic_src.js 2 mmenudom.js and then your menu data file[s]

I have just tried to add fireclick to our site http://www.mountaingear.com. We have implemented your menus on our site. When I had the fireclick js enabled the menu's disappeared. I am not a javascript expert but I looked around and it seems that the menu and fireclick code that get's downloaded from them are fighting over a _a var or function.

Is that likely? And if so what can I do about it. I'm not sure there are other conflicts.

Hi,

You will have to upgrade. You have a version that two years old. I have no idea what the newest version does. It may have been modified for it to work with whatever that thing is. Unless you've renewed your support license, in order to get the license version you'll have to renew that. You can contact Milonic about how to do it.

Thanks, I'm new here and am just discovering all the hidden things in the pages. Fireclick changed their code and now it works. I still don't know what it is that they did.

What advantages are there to upgrading from the old versio we are using?

Hi

In the two years of new releases new capabilities have been added to keep up with developments in browsers, in css and such, fixes for different problems with different releases of browsers, plus new properties based on requests by users. One of the new abilities is a much easier way to be able to use relative positioned menus, this allows you to leave everything in the data file and just call all the files in the table cell. Some of the new properties include

xml menus
support for Safari 3
new openstyle properties like forceleft
a menueditapi module, frames module, php menus
ability to make multiple page matches
