Changing initial state dependant on URL

I'm using a horizontal menu, with horizontal submenus, which reults in a menu which doesn't take up a lot of space on my page.
So, I've reserved the overall maximum space used by the menu just for the menu, i.e. the menu doesn't expand over any other content.
For each page, I'd like the menu to start dependant on the page URL.
eg: -
Main 1 | Main 2 | Main 3 | Main 4
->Sub 1 | Sub 2 | Sub 3
If the current URL is that of Sub 2, then instead of just the main menu showing (items 1 - 4) the menu would display the submenu which contains Sub 2 as an itial state, which would then be cancelled by any user interaction with the menu...
I hope this make ssense to someone....can it be done?

Yes, there is a Milonic bolt-on Module called openmenusbyurl.js which does just that. All you need to do is get the module, upload it to your site with your menu files and call it with the menu files, it should be called after the menu_data.js file. http://www.milonic.com/openmenusbyurl.js
