Anything wrong with this website?

Hi Guys,

Can any of you lot see anything wrong with this website?

http://www.webdesignplaza.com/

Some people have been complaining about it being buggy but I can't see any fault with it.

Is the menu there OK for you and does it do what you expect it to?

Cheers
Andy

Scrolling Menu?

The only thing I notice is that on different pages, sometimes there is a scrolling menu on the left, below the "Cancel Quote Request" graphic, and sometimes there isn't.

I'm using IE 6.028 on Windows XP

It works fine in ie5.5 netscape 6.01, netscape 7, opera 7, firebird[fox].07. But, in opera 6.05 you get the first when it loads and the second if you downsize the window any at all.

I'm not sure it's supposed to be like this but in all browsers I tried the request a quote is there as the page loads and then the form loads open with the cancel quote instead.

Problems.

When I first went to the site there were no menus at all in the left column. The button directly above the empty column was "Cancel a Quote Request". It wasn't until I clicked that button that it changed to "Request a Free Quote" and the menu finally appeared.

When clicking on various menu items the menu does not always appear on subsequent pages.

I'm concerned about the "milonic_src.js.php", etc., syntax. Isn't that invalid? Make it milonic_src.php, etc.

XP Pro/IE6.

OK thanks everyone, it's been a great help.

What I'm seeing is the menu can sometimes be a little slow to appear, this is hopefully because the page hasn't been fully loaded yet.

Can you try it again please guys and if the menu fails to appear can you give it a bit more time and confirm if the page has actually loaded. I'm not seeing the menu fail but it is a bit laggy sometimes.

With regard to Opera 6. The custom code uses innerHTML which isn't supported by Opera 6 so, fortunately, I'm not too concerned about that browser.

Cheers
Andy.

The page loads quickly for me, but it is definitely fully loaded. Same problems (and syntax concerns) as above.

When I went to the home page, the menu on the left showed up.

When I clicked on a link at random, a new page came up without the menu (http://www.webdesignplaza.com/web-desig ... abama.html)

When I used the "Back" button to go back to the home page, the scrolling menu on the home page did not show. I hit "Refresh" and there's still no menu on the home page. I used "Shift" + "Refresh" and still no menu.

However, when I clicked on a different link on the home page (http://www.webdesignplaza.com/web-desig ... rofit.html) I got a new page with the menu at the left. But, again, when I refreshed this new page, the menu disappeared.

I'm using a full-screen view, IE 6 on Windows XP

I think we are getting there now :D

Can you please take another look at it. I've changed something that should fix it.

Cheers

All the problems I reported are now fixed. The menu appears initially, and also when reloading the page and when using the "Back" button. :D

Got another one - Can you see if http://www.gstinc.com is OK

These guys are complaining that the menu fails on IE6.0 making them look a bunch of amateurs but I'm seeing nothing wrong at all.

Cheers

Can't tell you about IE right now, boss, but I'm seeing some problems on Safari.

I pick any menu and just run up and down without selecting anything. The items in the menu 'jiggle' slightly in a vertical direction as I move up and down.

Also, after the first bottom to top 'run', the right end of all sub-menus is cut off slightly; e.g., Careers/Diversity becomes 'Diversit'. This is only in a mouseOff state. If I mouseOn and the background changes to blue, the blue is the correct width and the full menu text shows.

The issues are minor in my visit to this site, using IE 6.0.28 on XP.

I'm getting the "jiggle" effect, but ONLY on menu-bar items that do not have a drop-down menu. There's no jiggle on any of the drop-down menus or menu items.

Examples:
http://www.gstinc.com/careers/benefits/index.html
http://www.gstinc.com/contact/index.html

In the above examples, the "jiggle" is only on the "Contact" menu item, and turns out to be the menu bar trying to re-size: If my mouse pointer hits the top of the word "Contact," there's no problem, but if I drag the mouse down, the word "Contact" drops slightly, and the black menu bar re-sizes vertically to accomodate this.

Another example: http://www.gstinc.com/products/routerhubs107/index.html
Here, I get the "jiggle" when my mouse moves over either the "Bridges" and "Routers" menu items. (Again, these aren't drop-down menus.)

On the home page (http://www.gstinc.com), there are no jiggles on the menu bar, but I get one when I mouse from the black menu bar into the "Entry DR Family" area, which is not part of the menu.
