i want to make a menu pointer ...

I want to make a menu pointer so visitors of my site can see where they are on my site.

example:
The user clicked on the menu 'Downloads'
After this action, menu downloads have to be different from the others
I have try to do this with itemOn(gmobj("Downloads")); but it doesn't work

pagematch= ; can do that along with subimage, I also use image and overimage for on and off and pagematchimage or something along those lines.

gmob is something I don't know,
