Updating the menu?

Hi!

This might sound like a strange question, but I'm in the process of updating my very old version of the menu. Do I have to do anything more but downloading just another package of the menu? I of course want to keep the settings I have made in the 'menu_data.js'-file. Do I have to do this again, or should I just copy and paste or is it simply enought if I update the other three files?

How old is 'very old'? If it is a V3 menu then you won't be able to use it unless you run the file through the converter.

At the moment, the end of the JS file uses:

Code:
drawMenus()

I'm can't remember what it used to be.

RC15

Nope, not that old, I'm running RC15.

What's the very last line of your menu_data.js file?

Very last line:

drawMenus();

Should be ok then. Back-up the current menu_data.js file and drop yours in to see what happens. I did this with mine and had no problems, but I think others have reported issues with certain visuals.

Ok, but how do I exactly do this, how do I do the back up? John asked me to update to version RC50, but I'm afraid I've missed out on the part on how to actually update....

If it were me, I would download the latest version, unpack it to a folder and copy your menu_data.js into it to see how it runs.

Then I would backup my folder containing all my JS files and then drop the new ones into it.

No probs, now I'll keep going in the "SSI and subdirectory problems"-topic above. I hope to sort it all out one day!
