Opening a horizontal menu's submenus upward (not down)

I hope I'm not re-asking a question that has already been posted, if so please direct me to the appropriate post....

I currently have a horizontal menu whose submenus open in a downward fashion, and am in need of them to open in an upward fashion. Is there a flag I can set to change this behavior? Or is this not a feature of the old version menu?
