one script with frames?

hello,

maybe this is newbee stuff but i don't know where to go...

i have several problems with version 5.0 to use on a webpage with 3 frames.
before i worked with version 3.0 and everything was fine.
i had 2 seperate menu-scripts for main and sub menu (each apearing in a frame).
e.g. i could control the position with
Frames_Top_Offset=0 // Frames Page Adjustment for Top
Frames_Left_Offset=-70 // Frames Page Adjustment for Left (Position submenu)

in version 5.0 i can control the position of main menu but i can not see the submenu because it's in the same frame (very small).

i can't find any information about it.

another qustion: is there any menu_data.js with all functions and explanations/comments in it like in version 3?

i also tryed the converter 3.0 to 5.0 but it doesn't work with two seperated scripts.
usually i would try to work further with ver. 3 but i had serious problems with using a directory structure. it only works with all files in one directory.

so i hop this problem will disapear with ver. 5 (will it?)

sorry for my stupid questions...

thanks and regards
heiko

Hi,
Version 5 is not designed to work like that with frames. What I mean is that it was not designed to have the main menu in one frame and the submenus open in another frame. You can of course still open pages in whichever frame you want. There is an unsupported code that was created by a user you can read about here Please keep in mind, this is NOT a milonic code and support is not given for it by milonic.

The menu was designed to work with iframes, which is what most newer browsers support. Looking at the sample which is titled Opening windows and frames, about 1/2 way down is the explanation of iframes.

Hope this helps.

hi ruth,
thanks a lot for your reply.

in the meantime i recognized the non-support of frames with ver. 5.
to go on with my project i continue to use ver. 3 and i changed completely the directory structur. now all html-pages are in one folder.
not comfortable but works.

i will have a look on the iFrame thing.

best regards
heiko
