testing for finished menu load/drawing? possible?

Hi all.

After searching through the forums with no luck, I thought I'd post to see if anyone might have an answer for a situation.

First off I am using: Version 5.11 - Built: Monday April 5 2004 - 12:52

I have a menu placed in a table cell and a couple of lines below that a rather large Flash movie is called. Large in terms of load and dimensions.

When the page loads with the Flash in place, the menu will not be drawn on the page until the Flash loads and animation stops. If I test by commenting out the Flash movie, everything is peachy and the page loads normally.

Due to project politics, the Flash has to be in the page. So I am wondering if there is a way to test if the menu has completed loading and drawing to the page before calling the Flash? Does drawMenus() return any value that could be tested against? Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Also, just for grins, you're 4 levels down! :D
