differences between IE5.5 and IE6

I'm using IE6 and have no problem with spacing around text in my menu. I just found out some users who have IE5.5 have no margins around the text in the menu; it looks very squished and they also don't see the shadow border on the menu.
Is there anyway to accomodate IE5.5 users? I am using the latest version of the vertical menu.
thanks
Elaine

A URL, as requested, would help. I don't have 5.5, but I think some of the other folks still do.

I can't send a URL because it's on our intranet and not accessible outside our network.

If you can't provide a URL, the next best thing would be to post your menu_data.js code, along with the code from an html page that uses the menu. Can you do that? If so, please post each one inside of different "code" blocks using the BBCode options at the top of the text area.
