pageimage not working

I cannot get the pageimage function to work.
Have placed it in the style definitions, tried the menu definition, and even added to the end of the menu string. - No go.

The menus do have an image already defind with bgimage in each menu string.

The pagecolor does work when a user is on the page defined in the menu item, but can't get the image to change. And yes, it's where I'm calling it from.

Any ideas? I assume I'm correct in saying it should be in the Style definition, as its listed on that Reference page.
