DB use in version 5

Hi!
I´m using version 3 of DHTML menu with ColdFusion, so that menu items are located in Access database (see Menumonger, http://mysecretbase.com/page_209.html. I have problems with menu item weight and now I noticed that the problem is solved in version 5.

Now I´m wondering how to change my system so that I can get menu items fron database with CF and use them in menu v5?

Guess I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. To upgrade to v5 just go to the main site, buy a license, download the new system, and follow the included docs to install.

Yeah you are kinda fague. I am guessing you have the menu since you said it has 'fixed your problems', where I am looking at it as you tried it out and it worked.
You most likely looked through the old menu_array file and figured out a way in CF to create the menus dynamically. Just take a look at the menu_data file in the version 5 and do the same thing, devise a way to generate correct syntax from the DB.

Matt from http://mysecretbase.com is the guy responsible for the Menu Monger thingy.

It might be an idea to pester him and see when he plans to upgrade.

Have you bought a menu from him? If you have this could a good excuse to put pressure on. Don't tell him I said that though

I ment that I´m about to use version 5 of the menu. But the problem was that I don´t know how to get menu items from database with CF. I´ll ask Matt if he would know some solution...

See why were are confused here. You said you had done it, and then said you dont know how. Pulling the items from the DB using CF should be the same, just the way you put it into the menu structure is slightly different, but easier.

I was trying to say that I know how to use menu version 3 with ColdFusion, but I don´t know how to use menu version 5 with CF.
Sorry if I wasn´t clear enough!
I contacted Matt about Menumonger and he said that he´s working on it and tried to contact Andy about it.

Hah! I found out anyway.

Pester me? I've emailed you privately twice on this. The last time was just a few days ago. I'm sure you're busy, though. When we last talked you proposed something different, so I've been holding off.

Looks like some wires crossed here. Lets talk off-list. I need to know where existing users stand on upgrades and such (I'll look over the site to see if thats explained).

And it looks like some people were unaware of what Tunkki was talking about and became a bit confused as a result. For their benefit, some time ago I wrote a freebie ColdFusion wrapper called MenuMongerToo for v3, which was rather popular as such things go. Later, via a special arrangement with Milonic Solutions, a much more full-featured commercial product (MenuMonger Pro) was produced that included a Milonic v3 license. Tunkki is a user/purchaser of that product.

Maybe you could offer a super bundle deal with 5.0 and a few of your most popular products including menu monger?

Well, as much as I like deals myself there's nothing to bundle. Most of the tools I offer are freebies, and the two I charge for *both* have Milonic already bundled inside (although my content management system uses Milonic v3, and since we're about to release a massive upgrade to it I can't do a v5 integration just now). Probably what I'll do is flat-out build MenuMonger Pro's feature set into the next version of ContentMonger Pro, thereby enhancing that menu version.

FYI I used Milonic in that cms to cure the clutter that I was experiencing in the administration area. Using Milonic made the admin area easier for novices to use while simultaneously solving my expansion problem (was running out of room to put links oncreen).
