background overflow

This is a thought on the background overflow problem, where background covers the page, I still have this problem visiting Milonic home page, all I see is menu background color, its not so prolific once I log in since that's the only accessible item on the page, probably because in effect I'm reloading the page.

I did a w3 validation of my site, with xhtml transitional, xml being the purest form of code. Any background that did not have height and width defined in a table would come up as error. I would leave one undefined to stretch the page 100% under the menu.

At one point it was thought that when font size was larger than item size the background would overflow, but it didn't solve the problem.

Not until I put background into each item it went away. Its like when I validated my page I can't avoid errors from background in table tag because I'm only defining 100% width.
