Since you have received the license number via e-mail, that means you are registered. Go back to the main site, log-in (or create an account there if you don't already have one), and download again. The system will recognize you as registered and send you the code without the links.

Note also...

Make sure all copyrights are intact on all files and that there is a visable link back to the Milonic site somewhere on the page(s) using the menu.

There is a place in the code for you to paste your license number, which you should do as well.

I was going to ask the same question in my previous message.

Which file is it in?

Hey Paul. Back at it, eh? How's it going?

It's actually in all three milonic script files: milonic_src.js, mmenudom.js, and mmenuns4.js. Last line of text in the comment block at the top.

This one keeps coming up time and time again.

If you've got a valid license and you still have the visible link to Milonic. You need to download the menu again, ensuring that you are logged in as the user that bought or requested and the system will check the database, then if it fiinds you, it will deliver the "unlinked" version.

Please note. The system isn't yet smart enough to know that you have a new license due to it not being spyware. It seems many people think that the system will automatically update their menu based on a new purchase or license approval. This is not possible due to the nature of JavaScript.

Might be worth posting as a sticky (maybe also un-stickying the "New Website" topic) and including in the FAQs. I'd also suggest changing the topic title of "Y'all asked fer it..." to "Docs and Examples Available" and in that topic, include links to the three Quick Ref pages, the Sample pages, and the FAQ page. Might cut down on some of the repeats.

Just a thought,

Kevin

Hi Kev,

Thanks, I'll add them. This Milonic thingie is getting more and more complicateder all the time.

[OT] What's new? Well, now I'm building crappy websites with a great menu system for others, not just myself. Email me if you want to chat (none of that newfangled instant messaging voodoo stuff for me...).

Thanks, Kevin. Excellent suggestion.

Try this: Go to milonic.com, open the "Support" menu at the top, select "Create User Account" -- that takes you to the registration page (which I also just conveniently linked!). Fill out the form, using the same email address you submitted when you purchased the license.

If I recall correctly, you will be sent an email very soon after submitting the form. Follow the instructions in the email to activate your account (I think all you have to do is click a link provided in the email).

Now make sure you're logged in. If you aren't, then click the "log-in" button at the upper left of any page on the Milonic site. Remember to log in using your email address, as prompted. Now, download the latest release, which you can get at http://www.milonic.co.uk/download.php?version=latest, or by downloading any of the samples.

Hope that helps,

Kevin

Exactly what part of it didn't work? You couldn't create the account; you didn't get the confirmation e-mail; you couldn't log in, etc.? Do you have cookies enabled on your browser?

Remember, the account on the main site is separate and different from the account here on the Forum, but you must use the same e-mail address you used when you registered for your license.

From the database I can see the website: http://dtps.unipi.gr against license number 190821

The username for this account is info __at__ dtps.ted.unipi.gr and is now active. You should be able to login now with this email address.

Andy

Hey Andy, do ALL Free Licenses get the link removed? Or do just free licenses that are issued to educational institutions (like vinilios) get the free w/o the link? I am confused. 8O

Sounds like a good question to be added to the FAQ!

At the moment ALL licenses get the link removed regardless of status.

I'm STILL undecided about how to do the free licensing.

One option is to just drop it all together but that's the easy way out.

I'm still thinking and I will get there eventually. I'm working all the hours God sends, plus a few more to get this menu at full release so unfortunately the free license situation is quite far down on my list of priorities at the moment.

Cheers

Educational license... where to get?

Hmm.. downloading the replacement code once a license is issued is plenty easy, but I'm having a different problem -- I've looked high and low on the milonic web site and can't for the life of me see how to obtain a free educational license. I stepped all the way through the Pro payment thinking there would be a point where it would ask me if I was qualified for a university license, but no joy. How exactly does one demonstrate that one is edu-affiliated in order to get the Pro license without entering credit card data?

Thanks,
Scot

I'm having problems getting rid of the milonic menu link myself. I've done what people have said here. I've downloaded the script again after being logged in. I've done it twice so far. Replacing the three files that need to be replaced. The link remains up top.

hmm.

EDIT
Forget it I figured it out. Needs to be a paid version. Well it's a nice menu and I'm sure you've all put a lot of hard work into it but I can't justify spending $43 bucks on it. Thanks anyway. I'm just going to have to find something similar that is free.
