Menu not loading when using php with URL varible passing

Hi,

I am having difficulty getting my menu to work on my site (http://www.businesstoday.org/backend/pu ... /index.php)

The content is dynamically generated, and the subjections are created by the index.php file itself, so I pass varibles using the .php/[page] technique.
(for example, to get to the conference section, you type index.php/Conference)

While the menu shows up on the index.php page proper (that is, without any / or subsection), when I add these things the menu disappears. Any help would be most appreciated.
