Version 4 Lite for large menus

Has there been any thought or progress on a high speed "lite" version of the new menu? I'm still struggleing here with speed issues on large menus and I'm expected to have a live finished menu by June 1'st! Does anyone know of a fast simple DHTML menu that I could use in the meantime?

Once we have a production release of v4 we will make a start on a lite version. This will be based on the same data structure as V4 regular but will not include all the bulky code that slows down the current system.

BTW - V4 has been tested and proved to be at least twice as fast as v3.
