Refining the current page highlight

I would suggest to refine the current page highlighting feature in the following way:
the menu item should be highlighted whenever the beginning of the current url matches the menu item url.
The current url may be specifying an anchor (#) while the menu does not, or may be specifying other parameters, such as cgi script parameters, beyond those specified by the menu url. I suggest that in both cases the menu item should be highlighted.

I still see this behaviour using Mozilla Firebird 0.6 and the latest version of IE6.

I've just tested it and it does work.
I've created a sample at http://www.milonic.com/4beta/link.htm
There is a sub menu called "Some Links", select one of the menu items in there and see it in it's full glory
