Using forms inside a menu -- persistance while inputing

I've put a form inside a menu item and it appears great, and generally works... except for one issue.

In my form you need to click a couple of radio buttons then click the submit button. However, each time you click one of these form elements, the menu goes away, requiring you to re-summon it. The previously clicked form item is still in clicked mode, and you can then click the next. But...

How do you make the menu stay alive while you make multiple selections on an embedded form?
