v3 to v5 conversion tool query

I've used the excellent utility to convert my JS menu entries from V3 to V5. It's saved me hours of copying and pasting - thank you!
But I noticed at the end of every line it's put:

;separatorsize=1
What does that do?

In between menu items, its the line thats drawn if you give it a color (separatorcolor). If you make it larger than 1, say 10, there will be a 10px gap between menu items that will not be clickable or mouseover-able.
It works for horizontal and vertical separation.
