Have you got an on-line example we could see?

Which version of the menu are you using? My site is in V3 and that can be sluggish, but with the new V5 version, it is instantaneous.

Maybe it's me but I didn't notice a problem.

I must congratulate you on such a unique implementation of the menu system, it looks great!

Ok, what I am noticing and I am not sure if this is your problem, is that the background ON image is lagging behind. So when you mouseover the menu items, you get the ON color instantaneously, but the ON background image is a half second behind (the pink). The reason this is happening is because you are using a different background image for each level down in the menu, and each of those needs to load. If you SLOWLY go over each menu in your longest menu and get them all to at least turn pink one time, then all your menus move a normal speed since the background images are loaded. The first time you hover over a subimage, you can see your browser throbber (upper right corner) working cuz its loading the background image. You need to put in some code into your page to preload the images, search on google for some info on preloading images to speed up a site. If thats your problem, thats your solution.

thank you for respecting the design (meybe we can make some projects together - we got here some wery good designers ang some programmers as well) ... the problem i told before - was that when you move over the main menu quikly the mouseover moves quicker then the sub menu - but they shold move together....but if you are interested in co-working, e-mail me (tarmo __at__ laborint.com) and i'm sure that we find something to share. Peace .... and best luck to all of ya...!.... and i also remind you that ordering programming or desing from or country is cheaper then from yours... hope to hear from you soon...

you can see our desing work at : ww.labor.ee and http://www.laborint.com . We are currently working on our new site and we are interested using your menu. when it's open i let you know. We'll have some new products coming out (one for building companies to have overview about their tools - program called "tools in net" :) and also the program that everybody has - CMS (content managemant system) - but we truely think that our version of CMS is better. :) ... and also a web based program for printhouse - so that their clients can order online and can see how far their project is... and also the manager of the printhouse can see the statistics about their salesmen etc. ....

The reason you are having that problem is because of what I described in my previous post. Look into preloading your images and it should alleviate your problems.

Also, this is my own personal opinion, mainly from working in the business for a couple short years, but I think that the software made here is as good as that made in foreign countries. I am deeply saddened to see US companies outsourcing programming to foreign countries and giving them the business. The only reason it is cheaper is because the standard of living and cost of living outside the US is lower than in the US, and it has come back to bite us in the ass. But I think as business is pushed to overseas countries and businesses there start demanding more money and the standards of living go up there, so will the salaries and it will become more economical to produce on US soil again. But until then, the programmers over here have to work alittle harder to prove their worth! ;)

by preloading the images the problem will be smaller - meaning that the time between showing the mouseover and the submenus will be shorter, but it will still exist. Version 3 menu don't have that problem, only version 5.

If you don't notice it, try to move quikly across the menu and you'll see that the mouseover and submenu will not move together.

When talking about the business oversea - it is not as terrible as you describe it :)
We already have experienced oversea business. And it turned out great.
I think it will push forward new ideas.

The main point in this partership is to learn from each other.

I don't know what kind of grew there is at your side - but our people are young and talented persons, with a desire to greate.

But if you are not interested in doing something together i understand...
and i'm not saying that you are workng bad or something....:)

I think your work is great. And by joining our abilities it will only get better...

Best luck to you!

I dont quite see the problem you're describing. Is it from left to right (across the top menus), or when you open a menu and drag top to bottom? For the most part, it follows my mouse pretty well. I only see lag across the top, but thats because its render each menu and sdisplaying all the images.

I apologize if I came off bitter. I'm not and I TOTALLY agree with you there are some pretty darn talented people out there, always creating new and innovative stuff. Both in the US and in other countries. And I will jump at the opportunity to work with someone whose got ideas to share and has potential to do something great, no matter what country they are from. Its just that when companies in your own country pick other (bright and talented) programmers in other countries because they'll work for less, it stinks. But I understand its a business and I probably would consider it myself if I was in control of millions of a company's dollars and had a chance to make a cheaper payroll. But I wouldn't dare take anything away from the intellectual abilities of those people. So I look forward to always working together! :D
