Fixing the menu position within a php site?

Hi,

i am currently redesigning a website and have set up a menu system.
the site is written in php, the menu i have positioned by selecting how many pixels etc it is from top and side.
the problem is on certain resolutions and browsers it is obviously moving.
im sure there is a way to fix the postion in the page but as yet have not worked it out.
any help will be really appreciated.

Ive now read the guide to including the menu inside a table but still no joy.
When doing this i cannot sow the menu at all.
