Width of top level menu in IE 4

I have a small contingent of users who use IE 4/Windows. In testing against IE 4, I've noticed that the width of the top level menus is pinched. I'm not specifying a width in the array and would prefer not to because I want to have irregular sizing for each of the menus.

Any workarounds for this?
