table menu fails in Netscape 4.x under Unix, Linux?

I have installed a Milonic Menu at

http://www.math.vanderbilt.edu/mainmenu.html

It seems to work properly on most browsers and most computers.
But it does not seem to work properly on Netscape 4.7x when
that is running on some Linux or Unix systems.

Is that easy to remedy?

Here are some complications to note; I don't know if any
of them are relevant to my difficulty:

I have several menus on one page; they are positioned
with table cells; there are also some other javascripts on
the same page.

Actually, I see the same problem on the sample page.
The sample menu at

http://www.milonic.co.uk/menu/menusampl ... ampleid=21

fails under Netscape 4.7x on Unix or Linux. I hope someone
can figure out how to fix that.
