Ctrl-F in IE 6.0 SP1 finds a string located in menu text

I am using IE 6.0 SP1 with version 3.5.07 of the menu. When I type Ctrl-F to search for a string in a given page, there are cases when pressing Alt-F or clicking Find Next in the dialog box seems not to respond. What happens is that IE has found an occurrence of that string in the text of one of my submenus and has highlighted it. In order to see the highlighted string, I need to open the first-level menu.) If I press Alt-F a second time, IE located the string if there is another occurrence.
I am wondering if there is a way to prevent a string in the menu text from being taken into account, as this is clearly not intended.
