Pegging CPU in MacOS 10.1.5

I really like your menus and they are used on my site.
However, using them causes Internet Explorer to peg my CPU whenever I am on a page that uses them. If I remove the menus from my page, the CPU goes back to low percentage use.
Doing a poll in MacOS X is not the recommended way to check for events. I would like to see a fix or work-around for whatever routine is doing the polling. The MacOS X system looks for triggering events instead of relying on polling in order to prevent CPU pegging out.
TIA
