Please help me break out of frames

I'm using the menu in a site with frames. I'd like for the links in the menu to break out of the frames. I tried using target=top after the link in the configuration file, but for some reason that pops up another window. Anyone know how to open in the whole, current window?

I've solved my problem by using target=_top instead of target=top
