Lost parameters in Frame capable version 3.4.12?

All,
Got a question for you. It looks like there were some parameters that were lost in the transition from the non frames version to the frames version, namely the ability to include an image in the top level menu directory. Does anyone know if this is really gone or how I can add images there as in the original version?
