Images used as top level of menu

I may have mentioned this some time ago, but like to refresh the topic if any one can help me...

On the website that I maintain:

http://www.kanohi-power.co.uk

The images inside the top level of the menu are overlapping in Netscape. = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20011128 Netscape6/6.2.1

Now, sometimes does this in IE 6, but after a refresh it pops back where they should :)

When it does work there is a 1-2 pixel border in Netscape all the way around the images even though border is set to 0 - with thanks to Andy he has given me the tag in the code where it should be changed... but only in IE.. is it the same for Netscape? if so where abouts in the code will I need to change it?

Does anyone know if the next version will have the fix for the overlapping above?

Keep up the good work guys :)

Mike

version 3.3.0 of the menu is available for general download, have you updated? Please do so if not and indicate if the problem persists.
thanks,
Yadin

I seem to be having this same problem. I just downloaded and installed the menu system on a new site I'm working on. In IE 6, the menus work GREAT, but in older versions of IE and Netscape, the top menus overlap each other sometimes, but sometimes they display as they should. The only difference I have from the above poster is that hitting refresh does not solve the problem when they do overlap....they stay that way. Also, I cannot find any kind of pattern as to when they overlap or don't overlap, it seems random.

If anybody wants to help me out, the site is at:

Thanks!

Ah....nevermind. I figured out my problem!

Overlapping images

I was having a very similar problem (even using version 3.4 of the menu code). I had a horizontal menu bar consisting of nine images and no text which seemed to work fine sometimes, but other times the images would overlap or position itself very strangely on the screen.

The odd thing was if you refresh the page or simply use the back arrow and then the forward arrow, it would correct itself. This seems to indicate that as long as the menu images are being displayed from the browser cache, everything works fine. This was using IE 5.5 (win) -- I had not tested it with other browsers to see if this problem existed elsewhere, but I did test this with multiple machines with the same results.

After messing around with it for awhile, I simply added a width and height attribute to the menu images being displayed, and this appears to have taken care of the problem. Also, as almost everyone is aware, this should allow for faster page rendering and is considered better coding practice.

Thanks!

how to apply width and height attributes?

how did you set the width and height of your images in the menu?

i think this would solve the issue of how the menu displays in netscape and opera.

thanks,
bryce
