Fixed menu for Boarders

I not sure if i have brought this up before but here goes.

If it could be possible for the menu to be fixed or some how have a way for the menu to strecth across the screen (window or frame), so you could have one line of colour that contain the menu.

Is there an option already in the current non-beta version ?

Being able to scale the menu to the screen width is on the development list, it is not in the current release.
